from Our Souls at Work

One weekend during the financial crisis, some Wall Street bankers got together, and on Monday came out with a brilliant idea. They would put all the bad assets together in a super fund, problem solved. This super fund idea was alive for six weeks, lots of lawyers and accountants did fantastic work to make it happen, but it didn’t come to be. Warren Buffet killed it saying, "You need to print third party equity if you create this superfund."  He was saying you must have a third party looking into the quality of those assets, or it’s going to be an even bigger mess. He was asking for transparency. The superfund did not past the transparency test."
