  • The Missional Entrepreneur is a book that is the culmination of many years of work in business as mission, culminating in my PhD thesis on the topic at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Over the years I have read nearly 100 books on topics related to faith and work, the social value of business, social entrepreneurship, theological treatises on economics and the like.

As a part of my PhD research and work as a consultant and employee of a few different organizations, including HOPE International and the International Mission Board, I have interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs, and researched dozens of businesses.

While I plan to continue reflecting, researching, reading and writing on this topic for years to come, this is where I have come thus far.

The book is composed of 17 chapters divided into five parts. Read professional endorsements

I encourage you to read the CHAPTER EXCERPTS to learn more about the book and after you read it, come back and converse with other like minded sojourners who are on a mission to change the world through quadruple bottom line business.

from Our Souls at Work

I am a minority. I can’t change someone who narrow-mindedly doesn’t like me because of my African-American ethnicity. I know those attitudes exist, even in the church. I notice the distance people keep from me. Racism has affected me. It ticks me off. It frustrates me. But those emotions aren’t productive. What is productive, and the only things I can control, are my actions and how I treat others."
